A source told us that the director has been sending feelers to the actress, who has been on vacation with her mother in the US.
When contacted, Kumar confirmed, "I am very close to Priyanka's father Ashok. Since, the role requires simplicity and glamour, Priyanka seems very apt to essay the character."
With Priyanka back in the city, the source informed us that she may soon meet Kumar to discuss the project.
When asked about the film, Kumar refrained from divulging any details and simply said, "The film is not about wigs and costumes. It is very true to my style."
The only piece of information that has been revealed about the film is that Uttam Singh has been brought in to compose the music for Kahani Mein Kahani.
Considering that most of Kumar's films have had a patriotic message attached, the industry is abuzz with speculations that his upcoming film might be a continuation of the trend he started. Kumar's last directorial venture was the 1999 film Jai Hind.
Despite several attempts, Priyanka Chopra remained unavailable for comment.
